He or She will challenge you, and eventually make you a better person.

They will care for you and accept you for who you are. Even if you’re the worst possible choice for them.

That person will hurt you, but you will learn to forgive them because your love is unconditional.

But sadly, it also taught me this:

No matter how perfect you are for each other, no matter how many good and bad times you’ve spent together, and no matter how much you love that person, if you are not meant to be, you won’t be together in the end. Sometimes fate just lets two people meet each other to learn lessons from that relationship. It will make them stronger, and more mature. But in the end, they will still spend the rest of their lives with someone else.

A decision to ignore simply rise above the pain in the past. A covenant, which at once binds two souls and yet severs prior ties. The celebration of the chance taken and the challenge that lies ahead. For two will always be stronger than one. Like a team braced against the tempests of the world. And love will always be the guiding force in our lives. For tonight is mere formality. Only an announcement to the world of feelings long held, promises made long ago in the sacred space in our hearts.
